Text format
Recognize one message before seeing the rhythm of a conversation.
Echo Yearbook reads ordinary text, not a proprietary file. Start each message with date, time, and sender; unmatched continuation lines join the previous message.
Recommended format
Put each message on its own line with the year first:
2026-08-12 08:12 Alex: Good morning 2026-08-12 08:18 Sam: See you today
Also recognized
Dates may use hyphens, slashes, or dots. Follow the sender with a full-width colon, colon, or tab.

CSV column order
Use “timestamp, sender, message” or “date, time, sender, message.” Standard double quotes may wrap commas in message text.

If recognition fails
Check for a four-digit year, hour and minute, and a colon between sender and text. System notices or isolated text without time are not counted separately.
